I did this short promo video one afternoon with Liam Ryan for ‘Man Day’, I’ll be taking pictures on the event, gallery coming soon.
So the day has come, World Heli Challenge Extreme Day was awesome, great venue and weather too. Riders got 1 set up run plus 2 judged runs, media got 1 lift to the top and then everybody had to choose from there. I ended up shooting 80% with the 70-200 mm … what a surprise. Here’s a couple of photos of the first day of comp.
Every time we go out, I wonder what new features the wind has shaped for us. I don’t like been on the wind or what the wind does to the snow, but I have to admit sometimes comes up with some pretty interesting surprises. Anyway, good fun plus at the end watched a sick Snow Dice session at Snow Park.
Technically it’s already spring and we were all ready to work on our tan and get the t-shirt shreding on, but mother nature said: “Wait!, where are you going? Bring the those jackets back!. So here we go again, back into winter mode, cloudy and snowy but we only a few days left to get some stuff done we send it anyway over Vail Pass, we only did some mini stuff, but definitely better than staying at home thinking about how is it outside.
And quick example of the session.
Good times on the road but we had to come back to reality at some point. With a couple of spare days, we revisited some old spots in Breckenridge and truly worked to get some pics. Lots of shoveling, speed checks and more shoveling, it was good to walk away with something in the back.
We are slowly starting to feel the effects of being on the road, but we made one more stop before wrapping up the trip, last but not least Wolf Creek Ski Area. It’s a big enough resort with plenty of terrain to hike and this the best part … they get the most snow in CO. Fun day, Bevan and Mitch got into a parallel slalom race and we finished with some hot laps around the resort … good fun indeed.
A must during road trips, just a day off to wake up late, travel short distances and do random things on the way. Can’t show much at the moment, but there was so golden moments on this part of the trip.
We continued our “running away” from snow trip going further south, into Taos, NM. After a few hours driving trough flats and desert, Taos Ski Valley appears in between the valleys, and what it looks like a not so big resort on the trails maps end up being a place with a lot of terrain and hiking to be done.
And here’s a short clip of Mitch cruising down the park after we finish shooting.
The destiny left us a few more days in Utah, so we went for a ride at The Canyons, it was snowing hard, fun runs trough the park and shot some other stuff as well. Make the most of the conditions for sure, thanks to Jerry and Darren at The Canyons and the crew for the good effort.
And a quick video of Hamish doing some laps in the park after we finished the planned pics.
