FOTOS : Billabong Bro Down 2012 Finals
With a great course, and the sun playing hide and seek all day, it was Final’s day at the 2012 Billabong Bro Down. The Kiwi riders performed really well, scoring spots on the podium in all divisions, including Christy Prior (1st place Women’s) and Stef Zeestraten (1st place Open Men’s). Here are some photos I did for Manual Magazine.
FOTOS : Billabong Bro Down 2012 Qualis
90 competitors from 15 countries took over the Billabong Bro Down Slope-style course at Snow Park NZ today. The course featured two jib features, followed by three jumps (20+, 40+ and 70+) and one last jib feature at the bottom. Kiwis Shelly Gotlieb, Stef Zeestraten and Tim Herbert rode well, qualifying 1st on their own heats. Here’s a few snaps from Day one that I did for Manual Magazine.
We are small
I’ve been working on a story for next year … but no idea if the weather it’s going to be on my side or not. Waiting for that weather got me thinking about the places and situations we got in sometimes … so deep, hahaha!. Anyway, here’s some cropped photos , can’t show more than that now.
World Heli Challenge – Extreme Day
So the day has come, World Heli Challenge Extreme Day was awesome, great venue and weather too. Riders got 1 set up run plus 2 judged runs, media got 1 lift to the top and then everybody had to choose from there. I ended up shooting 80% with the 70-200 mm … what a surprise. Here’s a couple of photos of the first day of comp.
World Heli Challenge Rego
So I got invited to the World Heli Challenge … so stoked, went to Hawea for registration and heli brief, this should be fun!.
Wind shaping snow
Every time we go out, I wonder what new features the wind has shaped for us. I don’t like been on the wind or what the wind does to the snow, but I have to admit sometimes comes up with some pretty interesting surprises. Anyway, good fun plus at the end watched a sick Snow Dice session at Snow Park.
El Colorado shreding
2 days before leaving to New Zealand, I had the chance to ride El Colorado, sunny fun day with the crew, they have plenty of snow and the first resort to get some features ready in the park.
Back to Breck
Good times on the road but we had to come back to reality at some point. With a couple of spare days, we revisited some old spots in Breckenridge and truly worked to get some pics. Lots of shoveling, speed checks and more shoveling, it was good to walk away with something in the back.
One more stop, Wolf Creek
We are slowly starting to feel the effects of being on the road, but we made one more stop before wrapping up the trip, last but not least Wolf Creek Ski Area. It’s a big enough resort with plenty of terrain to hike and this the best part … they get the most snow in CO. Fun day, Bevan and Mitch got into a parallel slalom race and we finished with some hot laps around the resort … good fun indeed.
